The refurbishment of El- Wak Stadium, built during the colonial period, boasted a playing field that had endured years of neglect. Termite ridden and hard as rock the brief “Design and construct football playing field to comply with FIFA Standards for International Tournaments” presented a considerable challenge. Comprehensive treatments to eradicate vermin, and sinking a bore hole to provide constant water for ongoing maintenance were among some of the essential features of this project.
