Accra Hearts of Oak project reaches final stage
Green Grass Technology has reached the final stage of construction of the Pobiman training pitch for Ghana's premier club Accra Hearts of Oak.
The work began in December 2009 when heavy earthmoving machinery were deployed on the site for cutting, filling, rolling, soil treatment for termites and shaping, after which our site surveyor took accurate levels to ensure the GGT standard was maintained.
Project Manager Mr Alfred Kofi Asamoah said this is a very high profile project and has received the highest level of professionalism that GGT give to the construction of all its pitches.
After the levels were taken the project moved to the next stage which was the introduction of black soil, after which the Second termite treatment was completed making the pitch now ready for grassing. Earth drains have also been constructed.
During a site visit by Hearts officials, Vice Chairman to the Board, Mr Frank Nelson expressed his satisfaction of the work done and hoped the pitch would be completed on schedule.
Mr Frank Boahene, Managing Director of GGT assured the delegation which included the national chairman of the Chapters and other officials that the project would take six months to complete and we were ahead of schedule. Mr Boahene also thanked the management for the support they have given to ensure that GGT deliver a top quality pitch.
Site surveyor Mr Sarpong also commented that when completed, the pitch would be of international standard judging from the quality of work and materials used.
